Park Fees & Rules

Camping

Chickahominy Riverfront Park features over 80 campsites, including campsites that accommodate large groups. Some campsites have scenic views of Gordon Creek. Campsites include everything from basic tent sites to full hookup sites for RV’s. There are no cabins available. Campers have access to 2 bathhouses with an outdoor sink at each bathhouse. There is a limit of 6 people (up to 4 adults) per site. Campsites may be reserved 12 months in advance. Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends require a 3-night minimum campsite rental (Friday-Sunday). Reservations can be made online or by calling 757-258-5020; view our Park Fees for more information. Payment is due when the reservation is made.

Water Recreation

The park offers a 290-foot lighted fishing pier that’s available for use 24 hours a day and a catch-and-release pond. A fresh water license is required for all fishing in the park for anyone over the age of 16. The park also features a boat ramp to launch personal watercraft and it’s also available for use 24 hours a day. Please stop in the Guest Services Office or use the boat ramp honor box outside the store to pay the boat ramp fee. Canoe and kayak rentals are available for rent all year. Fishing Tournaments

Chickahominy Riverfront Park hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year. Tournament space is located between campsites 107 and 111, and near the fishing pier. Tournament organizers must register in the Guest Services Office if the tournament has 30 or more boats. Guests who want to learn when fishing tournaments are scheduled are encouraged to contact the Guest Services Office or review the park calendar.

Park Store/Concessions

The park store sells drinks, snacks, ice cream, ice, bait and tackle, firewood, camping supplies, batteries, maps, boating supplies, paper products and more. 


Boat/RV Storage

The park offers year-round storage opportunities within a fenced environment with secure gate access. Call or drop by and we’ll be happy to answer any questions and give you a tour of the facility. Storage is available on a monthly basis for $100 a month.

Tents, Inflatables, Generators and Other


Single, free standing tents, up to 16’x16’, are permitted in open space within the park, but not permitted within 100’ of picnic shelters, the playground, sports courts, parking lot, pedestrian paths or on the patio. Tents must be anchored per manufacturer’s recommendations, with tie downs marked in a noticeable manner and may not be combined with other tents. Use of tents larger than 16’x16’, inflatables, generators, petting zoos or any amusement attraction, towable smoker/grill or fryers, or other large equipment will require a Special Park Use Permit and additional fees, and approval will be based on date, size, scope of the event and any conflicts the event may have on public usage of the park.

Dog Rules


Chickahominy Riverfront Park is a dog-friendly park. Dogs must be under complete and immediate control of owners at all times and must be on a leash no longer than 8 feet. Owners are responsible for removing dog waste. Litter bags are available and guests should use only what they need while using the trail.
