Enjoy Fine Dining Locally

We love reading reviews of places and we checked our favorite websites (TripAdvisor and Yelp!) and came up with a three suggestions for fine dining in James City County. Whether you are celebrating an occasion or just in the mood for a fine dining experience, check out the options for fine dining James City County.

  • Café Provençal is located at the Williamsburg Winery and offers a variety of different options for fine dining including special menus for holidays and they can host special events. Café Provençal aims to showcase the bounty of Virginia farms, and those in surrounding states, to create a true farm-to-farm dining experience. The Wessex Hundred culinary team works especially hard to support smaller farms – quality farms that raise animals humanely and practice environmental stewardship.     • Café Provençal is only open for dinner.  
    • Café Provençal is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Captain George’s Seafood Buffet is a local franchise with four locations in the Hampton Roads region. The Williamsburg location opened in 1985 and is listed in the Top 12 All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Buffets in America! The buffet includes more than 70 items including Alaskan snow crab legs and fresh, steamed shrimp. There are non-seafood items available as well. The adult buffet cost is $37.99 per person for adults. Beverages are an additional cost. Children aged 5-12 are $19.99. Many reviews note the plentiful buffet and the value for the price.
    • On Sundays, the buffet is discounted from noon until 4 p.m. to $32.99 for adults and $19.99 for children.
    • Reservations are accepted for groups of 10 or more.
  • Opus 9 Steakhouse is located in New Town Williamsburg and has earned multiple Certificates of Excellence from TripAdvisor. The menu offers a variety of surf and turf options and they often have specials for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and the holidays. Their dessert menu is to die for with everyone’s favorites including key lime pie, house-made New York style cheesecake, tiramisu, crème brulee and even a molten chocolate cake served with ice cream.  There is a large list of wines and craft cocktails.     • Opus 9 Steakhouse has a private dining room that is available for groups including wedding rehearsals.
    • They have a $10 lunch menu with 10 different menu options.
    • They have a great brunch buffet on Sundays.
