Did you know that the Williamsburg Winery has a Wine & Brine Lounge in its lunch restaurant, the Gabriel Archer Tavern? Every Saturday and Sunday wherein they will be featuring a new Virginia oyster and inviting the local watermen to join guests at the farm to shuck, serve and share their story. This occurs from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sundays.

If you want to celebrate Oyster Month at home, you can purchase oysters from specialty sections of grocery stores such as Publix, Fresh Market or Harris Teeter at Lightfoot Marketplace or a locally owned market like Carino’s Seafood on Ironbound Road or Uncle Russ’ Dockside Seafood Market off of Olde Towne Road. Uncle Russ will steam your oysters if you call ahead.
