Make a Commendation or Complaint

If you wish to make a commendation or complaint about the actions of a police officer or about any aspect of police operations, there are several ways you may do so.

If you are making a complaint, please provide specific details. Complaints are investigated and the findings are reviewed by the Chief of Police.

In Person 

You may come to the Law Enforcement Center located at 4600 Opportunity Way and request to speak with someone about a commendation or complaint. The Law Enforcement Center is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. except Holidays.

By Phone 

You may call the Police Department at 757-253-1800 and tell the person answering the phone that you would like to make a commendation or complaint.

You may write a commendation or complaint and mail it to:
