Pocahontas Imagined Special Exhibition at Jamestown Settlement

Four hundred years after the 1617 death of Pocahontas in England, her image and legend live on. Using depictions of Pocahontas from across the centuries, Jamestown Settlement will present "Pocahontas Imagined," a special exhibition opening July 15. The exhibition illuminates the reasons behind her enduring legacy as well as her impression on popular culture and art. The renowned Powhatan Indian who befriended English colonists in Virginia in the early 1600s has been immortalized in art, song and story. Born about 1596, Pocahontas was the daughter of Powhatan, chief of more than 30 tribes in coastal Virginia. Several years after converting to Christianity and marrying Englishman John Rolfe, Pocahontas became ill and died in March 1617 in Gravesend, England.

REV3 Triathlon

REV3 Triathlon returns to Chickahominy Riverfront Park July 8-9. New this year, the weekend will include a sprint and a kids dualthon for children aged 6-14. The kids dualthon is free, so sign the kids up!

Scares that Care Weekend

Enjoy a three day horror based event, July 21-23, complete with fun activities, exciting celebrity guests and a spooky good time! Best of all - all proceeds raised from this event will go to help families with severely ill children, women fighting breast cancer and those children suffering burn injuries! (Children 10 years of age or younger are free with a paid adult admission.) Activities also include a 5K and fun run.

Summer Nights at Busch Gardens

In July, Busch Gardens ® becomes a cooler place after dark during Summer Nights, presented by Coca-Cola®. Special entertainment, culinary experiences and a fun nighttime atmosphere will give guests a new reason to visit during summer evenings. Summer Saturdays will be even more special with the Summer Nights Concert Series, featuring popular rock, pop, country and contemporary Christian performers live under the stars in the Royal Palace Theatre.
