The Williamsburg Winery is pleased to announce the opening of its Westbury Hall expansion, which adds an additional 9,000 square feet of operational space. The building was formerly a warehouse. Westbury Hall is divided into three levels: a lower level that features a new 40-seat private tasting and events area that provides a view of the wine cellar, a multipurpose event space on the main level and an upper level that features the White Horse Conference/Meeting Room as well as a private area for bridal parties.
“It became evident that we needed to expand the Winery’s operational space due to increased visitation and a greater interest of guests to learn and experience wines by tasting. We also realized that we needed additional space for visitors and for the needs of our Functions Department,” stated Michael Kimball, Assistant Vice President of Marketing for the Williamsburg Winery.
The expansion is named for Westbury, a village just east of Wedmore in southwest England. Westbury Hall is just east of Wedmore Place, the boutique hotel adjacent to the Winery that opened in late 2007.
The Williamsburg Winery is over 40 acres of vineyards, an on-site garden, a hotel and two restaurants, Café Provencal and the Gabriel Archer Tavern all set on Wessex Hundred, a 300-acre farm. The Williamsburg Winery opened in 1988 and is open year round. There are numerous sites on property for group tastings, weddings and private events. Additionally, the Williamsburg Winery hosts a variety of special events throughout the year that are open to the public.
